Site-Closure Reduced-Assets Property System (SCRAPS)
Lead Developer/Architect
U.S. Department of Energy, Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site

This application was developed to replace the costly PEMS asset management application at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site. This application was designed to track and manage all site assets from anything like computer equipment to site vehicles and large equipment.

  • Wrote the software proposal and cost estimate for the project
  • Worked with the client to develop the requirements document and the software specification
  • Designed and developed the application over the course of a few months both on-time and within budget
  • Designed and developed all of the reports for the project using Crystal Reports
  • Performed a data conversion from the legacy PEMS application to the SCRAPS Oracle database
Environment: IIS 5.0 and ASP / Oracle 8i / Crystal Reports 8.5

Lead Developer/Architect
Clark County Health District, Public Health Department

This project was developed for the Clark County Public Health Department to track Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), First Responder, and Registered Nurse (RN) personnel performing services within the county including certifications, employment history, and training. In addition, the software also tracks EMS agencies, their personnel and vehicles, and vehicle inspections.

  • Designed and developed the application with a number of other developers
  • Designed and developed reports for the project using Crystal Reports including client-related reports and performance measure and statistical reports
  • Added many addition client program modules and reports to track additional program-specific client information (such as Tuberculosis, Communicable Diseases, and Perinatal Hepatitis B)
  • Performed many data imports from legacy data sources for each new program module
  • Performed many on-site services including installations, upgrades, client reviews and requirements meetings
Environment: IIS 6.0 and ASP / Oracle 10i / Crystal Reports XI

Web-based Immunization Registry (WebIZ)
Developer/Architect

This project was originally developed for Clark County and subsequently sold to the states of Kansas and Nevada. This software tracks both public health and private provider clients and client immunizations. In addition, the software also contains a number of addition modules to track smallpox vaccination, reproductive health and sexually transmitted disease-related client information.

  • Designed the original prototype for the application
  • Designed and developed the application with a number of other developers
  • Designed and developed reports for the project using Crystal Reports including client-related reports and performance measure and statistical reports
  • Performed and developed many client-specific customizations to the software including additional modules, reports, and data imports

RMOUG Spring 2005 Featured Presenter

I was invited to be a featured presenter at the Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group quarterly meeting in the spring of 2005. I had given a visual and oral presentation entitled Developing ASP.NET applications using an Oracle back-end demonstrating techniques to successfully fuse Microsoft technologies with an Oracle database. At the conclusion of the presentation, I fielded questions and discussed the benefits of the approach.
